Person Specification: Children & Young People's Link Worker
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key duties
- To conduct maintenance of all facilities at the Greenway Centre, Southmead Adventure Playground (The Ranch), and any other facilities the Trust manages including general repairs and improvements, e.g. painting, plumbing, boarding broken windows, replacing light fittings
- Support the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Assistant and wider team in all health and safety aspects of Trust operations, particularly in the daily running of our buildings and outdoor areas. Work carried out must be in line with current legislation, regulations, risk assessment, Safe Systems of Work and company procedure notes.
- Report and respond to faults and make repairs as appropriate
- Be a Key Holder to secure and open up the buildings as required
- Ensure that all Trust buildings and spaces are safe, welcoming, efficient, compliant, and well-presented, undertaking cleaning duties as required
- Provide a high standard of customer service and build good relationships with staff, customers, and contractors
- Liaise with maintenance contractors to ensure standards of safety, quality, time efficiency, and cost are met
- To maintain records of all maintenance equipment and stock on site, including paints and chemicals, and ensure their safe storage
- Assist with waste management
- Carry out all daily, weekly and monthly checks and keep accurate records of these.
- Undertake lone working within occupied premises and/or work outdoors in all weathers, and complete physically demanding work
General duties

ESSENTIAL
Qualifications
- Qualification or certification in Health and Safety e.g. Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), Health and Safety passport scheme
Experience
- Carrying out general maintenance tasks to the required standard, and of working to deadlines and prioritising own workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Building good relationships with a variety of different people including staff, customers, and contractors
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation regarding general maintenance areas and safe systems of work
- Conducting and following risk assessments
- Basic IT skills
- Detailed understanding of products and materials used in maintenance and construction, including price and how to source good practice in maintaining tools and equipment

- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Willingness to solve problems
- Self-motivated with drive for high standards
- Flexible approach to work and variety of tasks

Qualifications
- Any qualification in the building trade e.g. electrician, plumber
- A customer service qualification
- First Aid qualification
- City & Guilds qualification, NVQ3
Experience

- Strong IT skills, including Office 365
