Welcoming Sober Wolf & SMART to Greenway Centre

10/12/2025

We have officially welcomed our fantastic partners to their North Bristol hub here on the Greenway Centre site.

Our celebration of Horizons – Bristol’s Drug and Alcohol Partnership – included a brilliant performance by The Recovery Orchestra, and a mini-boxing for wellbeing session with Richard Donlan from Sober Wolf Recovery Fitness.

John Slater from SMART Recovery UK (Self Management and Recovery Training), a community of support groups that aim to help people with their substance use, also attended to explain this effective programme which is available to everyone. And staff from the Horizons service were on hand to speak to people looking for support for themselves, friends and family.

The event was a great opportunity to spread the word about two new groups at Greenway Centre – our free Sober Wolf sessions, every Monday from 5-6pm in our Boxing Zone, and SMART Recovery meetings, run by people in recovery themselves, meeting every Wednesday from 2-3 pm.

Horizons offers support from the newly refurbished hub here at Greenway, and if you would like to talk to the team about your drug or alcohol use – whether you want to quit entirely, reduce your use, or learn how to be safer when using – they can support you.

To speak to someone from the Horizons team telephone 0300 555 1469, or email BristolInfo@horizons.co.uk, or visit the Horizons website HERE

Charity Southmead Development Trust is proud to be a partner in Horizons.
