Jazz in our new Garden Hall: Friday 19th September

01/09/2025

We are delighted that our first music performance is happening in the new Garden Hall in our newly refurbished Greenrooms.

On Friday 19th September, musicians Daniel Jacobson (guitar) and Raphael Clarkson (trombone) will be playing their favourite jazz standards and popular music of the last 40 years, including songs by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Duke Ellington and traditional tunes. The pair have a unique ability to get inside the songs and take them somewhere you have never heard before, with strong improvisational abilities tempered by respect for melody and harmony.

Thank you to the Daniel and Raphael for putting on this event for free.  We invite everyone along to enjoy the music and see our new event space, Garden Hall, first hand.  Drinks and snacks will be available to buy from the bar.

Garden Hall is part of our renovated Greenrooms, which is opposite our main Greenway Centre building.  When Greenway was a boys’ school, back in the day, this building was the dining hall and many of our residents have memories of queuing for their school puddings! If you were one of those pupils then you might be surprised to see how the building now looks inside, so do come along.

To be added to the guest list email: info@southmead.org, or telephone: 0117 950 3335.

We look forward to seeing you on this very special first night of music, also listed on our What’s On calendar HERE.
