Youth Cake Face-Off at Southmead Festival!
23/07/2025

This Saturday at the Southmead Festival, young people who attend our weekly youth sessions will be entering into competition to raise much needed funds for their activities. Two teams will face-off in a competition inspired by the TV shows The Apprentice and The Great British Bake Off.
Since last December, young people have been learning how to bake cakes and make cookies, as well as other dishes, at Wednesday evening sessions helped by our Youth Workers, Mason and Melody.
Now the duo will be each heading up a team of young people, boys versus girls, to sell their baked goods at the Festival. The rules of the competition are that both teams have been given the exact same budget of £50 for ingredients, and the winners will be judged on how much profit they can make from their sales. The cakes will be available from the Youth Tent so please do come over and support their efforts.
As well as this, there will be a pampering area where, for a small donation, you can have a makeover, your nails done, or just some crazy 70s colour added to your hair to get in the festival spirit. Again, all funds raised will go towards our weekly youth activities at The Ranch.
Youth sessions run on Wednesday and Friday evenings throughout the Summer Holidays. Come and have a chat with me at the Festival if you would like to find out more, or do contact me, email:delhibbert@southmead.org, or call: 0117 950 33350 and leave a message for Del (Youth Engagement Manager).
