Winter Celebration Week is Coming: Monday 8th – Saturday 13th December
12/11/2025
We are beginning to buzz about our Winter Celebration week here at Greenway Centre. From Monday 8th to Saturday 13th December, we hope you will join us to celebrate all things seasonal. How do you like to celebrate? With food, entertainment, parties, peace, or perhaps a panto?
Everyone is welcome to put their ideas forward for things to do in this week. I would love to find you a time to come and share a skill or talent you have. In the past we have had Bingo, singing, music performances, crafts, sharing food, and all kinds of events to bring residents together.
Each day we will be bundling up seasonal activities into a lovely parcel for you, along with a hot drink and mince or apple pie. We all love to taste different flavours so if you want to bring along and share foods you like to cook and eat, please feel free!
All our weekly activity groups will have a winter twist, and from next week you can check in on the programme as it grows on our events calendar HERE. So far:
Monday – at 11am there will be a special Twinkly Techy Tea Party to help you with your last-minute digital shopping and online tasks, and everyone will be given a free stylus pen (thank you Santa!). This will be followed in the afternoon by a special workshop on avoiding seasonal digital scams – those fake gift-givers never stop trying to pinch our pennies online! Then at Betty’s Pomp-pom making workshop, from 2-4pm, we will continue to conjure up festive woolly decorations to add to the tree!
Tuesday – as well as a snowy Sporting Memories session at 10:30am, come and take part in a Christmas wreath making workshop. Then from 1-3pm, get festively creative with the popular Tuesday art group.
Wednesday – take a winter wander with Greenway strollers in Christmas hats at 10am, or, if it is a bit nippy out, make your own Christmas cards (or get ahead for the year’s birthday cards) at our home-made greeting cards craft group.
Thursday – Coffee morning at 10am will be full of hats and Christmas jumpers. Then join in with the Greenway singers at 2pm for a jolly seasonal singalong.
Friday – there will be a snuggly Knit and Natter get-together in the morning, and our brand-new sewing group will be in Christmas stitches from 2:30pm.
Saturday – it will be community panto time (Oh Yes It Will!). Remember to book your tickets now for either the 12pm or 3pm Snow White performance, before they sell out, HERE.
Throughout Winter Celebration week do keep an eye out for our special donation campaign – The Ranch Brighter Futures, and help our Children and Young People’s Services to continue their fabulous work in 2026 – read more HERE.
