The Sky is the Limit for Meadows to Meadows Show 6 – Friday 8th May

Meadows to Meaders is a Southmead community drama group performing live ‘soap-opera’ style shows, based on the real stories of residents. ‘BAC in Time’ (Bristol Aeroplane Company) is the sixth and latest instalment of the tales of families living in North Bristol and will be performed underneath Concorde at Bristol Aerospace.
Production of the shows has been a longstanding and valued partnership between Southmead residents, Local Learning CIC, Bristol Old Vic, and Southmead Development Trust; this collaboration has been at the heart of every performance.
From the very first production, Southmead Development Trust has been a key partner in supporting the shows to bring residents’ stories to life. Through sustained financial investment, provision of community space, and dedicated outreach work, we have helped the Meadows to Meaders project to reach the people and communities whose stories need to be told. This consistency of support speaks to a shared vision: that the arts can be a powerful vehicle for community cohesion, local pride, and civic engagement.
Together, Southmead residents, Local Learning CIC and Southmead Development Trust have built something genuinely rooted in place; the shows are a living archive of the memories and experiences of people from Southmead, and now, for this special sixth episode, also of people from Filton, Patchway, and beyond.
Meadows to Meaders 6: BAC in Time is truly spreading its wings to take community stories and partner relationships to brand new heights: this time supporters include Aerospace Bristol, South Gloucestershire Council, and Southern Brooks, and the show will be performed underneath Concorde itself!
Do grab a ticket and come along to this innovative performance at the Aerospace Museum on Friday 8th May – VE Day – to dive into real stories from 1940s wartime, the changing landscape of the 1970s, the lost village of Charlton (swallowed by the airfield), and the early flights of Concorde.
