Southmead Welcomes BBC DIY SOS!

We are delighted that BBC DIY SOS will be coming to Southmead to make a Big Build programme about the Southmead Adventure Playground (known locally as The Ranch).  We can’t wait for the big reveal when we can all see the improvements made and new features added.

Southmead Development Trust took on the lease of the Southmead Adventure Playground before the pandemic and we have been making plans and looking at ways we can improve it for Southmead’s families and generations to come.  We particularly want to focus on making it a place for all ages of young people – from tots to teenagers.

DIY SOS will help us to begin our vision of a refreshed adventure playground – a place where families and children want to be, to play and have fun.  The kind of community space we can all be proud of, want to be part of and help to keep safe and open for the long term.

Filming for the show will take place from 19th – 27th October 2021 and if you can volunteer to help as tradespeople or to donate, please get in touch with the BBC team as below.
