December 2024: Planning the new Southmead Library

You may have heard that once the new buildings on Glencoyne Squre are up, Southmead Library will be back over the road once more and part of the new development. It will leave its current temporary location at Southmead House and will be on the ground floor in the Glencoyne community area – shiny and brand spanking new!

We have been meeting with Bristol Libraries over the last year to work on the design of the new Library. In the New Year we are meeting up again to talk about what kind of technology will be needed for new systems to make sure the new service works at its best.

Meanwhile, all other aspects of the Glencoyne project are in full swing as we focus on the detailed designs of the buildings, the public spaces, and on making the area as sustainable as possible.  This work will continue until the end of February when we hope to bring you more pictures of how Glencoyne will look.
