It’s Nearly Time for Spring Super Saturday at Greenway – All Welcome

We are gearing up for a Spring Super-Duper Saturday at Greenway this Saturday 29th March, 12 – 3 PM. From the seed of an idea, and thanks to funding from Bristol Community Festival, we now have a fully-fledged Spring bonanza.

Thanks to all our partners who are helping to make the day happen and putting together loads of exciting things for residents to come and do – on the day there will be:

• Free cooking demos and tasters
• Designing community energy & FREE thermometers
• Greenway Market with crafts and pre-loved items for sale
• New Greenway Boxing Zone Open Day (9 AM – 5 PM)
• Southmead Repair Café – bring your broken items
• Sharing school dinner stories with Meadows to Meaders
• Free seeds and swapping at the Southmead Seed Swap
• Southmead Men’s Space – meet them and find out what they do
• Activities from the RSPB and Southmead Hospital Allotments team

Free food tasters are from around the world – Sudan to Wales to China to Southmead! The Greenway market is the perfect place for last minute Mother’s Day gifts or to treat yourself. It is also the place to get your tea and cake to fuel your afternoon.

If you fancy a chat, you can talk to Meadows to Meaders about your school dinner memories (there will be a BSL interpreter present), or to the Climate and Nature team about home energy and climate projects in Southmead.

Bring your broken items to the first Southmead Repair Café and our expert volunteers will try to save them from landfill. And meet with the Southmead Men’s Space chaps, they are a great bunch, and you may know someone who would like to join the group.

Do take a look around our new Greenway Boxing Zone, and the shiny new loos and changing facilities. The Zone is now ready to pack a punch, and you can get your gloves on and try some non-contact boxing training – it is great for your health. If you are not a gym member, you can join for free on Saturday if you like the look of us!

I am really looking forward to this fun-packed day and to welcoming everyone along. There is no need to book – just turn up and enjoy, it is for all ages so do bring friends and family.
