Another Great Southmead Repair Cafe
03/06/2025
Last weekend we held another fantastic Southmead Repair Café. Our brilliant volunteers repaired nine items. Not everything is fixable, but it is great to try to give our homewares another lease of life.
We unblocked a hoover for one happy customer, and fixed gears so that a father and daughter could continue their bike rides together.
The Café runs alongside the monthly Greenway Market; visitors waiting for their items to be assessed or repaired can leave them in safe hands, while they browse around the market for a special find and grab a cup of tea and cake.
The Repair Café is every month, apart from August, when our volunteers have a ‘well-earned’ break (to restore themselves!).
We love to celebrate Repair success stories, if you think your item could be our next triumph, come along. Do make sure you bring the batteries for any items that need them, so we can test them out.
The service is free of charge, but we do encourage donations to keep the Café running. We want to support residents to reduce waste, upcycle items, and save money on costly repairs, or having to buy replacements. Come and give us a try! And if you have a repair skill you would like to volunteer to share, please contact us.
You can find our monthly dates on our What’s On calendar.
