Person Specification: Learning & Wellbeing Coach
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery
- To work holistically with participants one-to-one and in group settings to support wellbeing, health, learning and employment, using a person-centred, compassionate, and trauma-informed approach.
- Effectively manage a caseload of participants using solutions focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing.
- Carry out detailed assessments and collaboratively create individual support plans with participants.
- Signpost and refer participants to appropriate services and activities to best support holistic health
- Identify work experience and volunteering opportunities with the trust, partners, and employers, linking participants to them when appropriate
- Support the design, development and delivery of group learning and wellbeing activities
- To attend and actively participate in monthly one-to-one line management, including engaging in the monitoring and review of performance targets and training needs.
- To engage with regular reflective practice to support work with participants and support practitioner wellbeing
- To work with the Learning and Wellbeing Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants, following Trust policy and best practice.
- To attend regular team meetings, utilising the skills and experience of the broader team to ensure the best support for participants
- To work to key performance indicators
- To work with the Wellbeing Service Coordinator to ensure the smooth progression of referrals
Reporting and Quality Assurance
- Manage confidential information and storage of information accurately and in a timely manner using database, excel, word, Office 365 and any other systems and processes
- To support Learning and Wellbeing Manager and submit regular, monthly reports including data, feedback and case studies to support internal and external reporting requirements
- To work with the Wellbeing Service Coordinator to ensure case files are complete and up to date, including confidentiality agreements, outcomes, outputs and case notes
- To ensure timely and accurate recording of safeguarding issues
- To assist the Learning and Wellbeing Manager and other team members to continually improve systems and processes
General duties
- To comply with all Trust policies and procedures.

- Ability to work independently and proactively to solve problems.
- To participate in training, professional development and team meetings.

ESSENTIAL
Experience:
- In an employment, learning or wellbeing role
- Of strengths-based assessment and person-centred practice with vulnerable adults.
- And understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
- Of service promotion through effective marketing and social media campaigns to engage partners and participants
Skills:
- To to work one-to-one with vulnerable adults affecting change.
- Excellent IT – proficient use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and CRM databases
- Proactive planning with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent ability to manage a case load and engage participants to outcomes
- Able to proactively address problems, plan and seek pragmatic solutions
- Able to give and receive feedback constructively
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and service users
- Adept in working to GDPR standards and managing confidential personal information
- Adept in supporting monthly and quarterly reporting
- Adept in developing and improving processes
OTHER

- Willingness and ability to work outside normal office hours and across multiple sites.
- Knowledge of Southmead and the issues facing local residents and vulnerable adults
- Experience of supporting wellbeing, or pre-employment support or community learning initiatives

DESIRABLE
- Solutions Focused Therapy or Motivational Interviewing training or qualification
- Hold an Information Advice Guidance qualification of level three or above
- Experience of project reporting
- Experience of delivering outcomes for funders
- Experience and knowledge of complex databases
- Knowledge of Southmead Development Trust’s strategic objectives
- Knowledge of asset-based working
