Roles and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Carry out daily cleaning of all areas including toilets, changing rooms, corridors, offices, meeting rooms, gym spaces and communal areas.
- Follow cleaning schedules and complete routine, deepclean and adhoc tasks as required.
- Ensure all spaces are hygienic, tidy and welcoming for visitors, staff and volunteers.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and in line with Health & Safety and COSHHguidelines.
- Refill consumables such as soap, toilet roll, paper towels and cleaning supplies.
- Support room setups by ensuring spaces are clean, presentable and ready for meetings, activities and events.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or damage promptly to the Facilities team.
- Keep cleaning equipment in good working order and report when replacements or repairs are needed.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in high-traffic areas such as foyers, entrances and customer routes.
- Work collaboratively with the Facilities team and wider staff to support smooth daily operations.

Essential
- Experience in cleaning within a workplace, public building, or similar environment
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and complete tasks to a high standard
- Good understanding of Health and Safety and safe working practices
- Awareness of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning chemicals (training can be provided)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks
- Reliable, punctual and able to maintain high standards consistently
- Physically able to carry out manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and being on your feet for mostof the shift
- Ability to identify and report maintenance issues or hazards promptly
- Positive attitude, takes pride in cleanliness and presentation of shared spaces

Desirable
- Previous experience cleaning in a community centre, leisure centre, school, hospital or similar hightraffic environment
- Experience using commercial cleaning equipment or machinery (e.g. floor scrubbers)
- Basic understanding of safeguarding in community settings
- Experience supporting room setups for meetings or events
- First Aid or Health & Safety training
