Sober Wolf Boxing Sessions at Greenway Centre
04/03/2026
It has been an exciting six months for Horizons Drug and Alcohol Service at Greenway Centre.
In August, we started Sober Wolf. This is a new boxing fitness class designed for people in recovery. Our instructor, Rich Donlan, runs the sessions in the Boxing Zone. He helps attendees build a healthy habit of regular exercise in sessions that are friendly and supportive. Whether you are an experienced boxer or a total beginner, everyone is welcome.
I was lucky enough to attend the first class that Rich led at Greenway. I left feeling inspired by the warmth and energy in the room that evening. Sober Wolf helps people learn important skills like discipline and commitment, but it is also about having fun.
If you feel inspired to pull on some boxing gloves (we provide them too) and work up a sweat, come along to our Monday evening sessions from 5 – 6 pm in the Boxing Zone at Greenway Gym. Sober Wolf is free and open to anyone in recovery from drug or alcohol problems.
We are also excited to share news about Sober Social at The Ranch, which will begin in April. Sober Social gives people a chance to meet and spend time together in an alcohol-free space. There will be a pool table, table football, and darts, as well as food and a range of delicious non-alcoholic drinks. We are also planning special events such as a film night, a club night, and a games night.
Sober Social will take place in the clubhouse at The Ranch on the last Sunday of every month, starting in April. Look out for more details on our social media pages and website in the coming weeks.
