Single Parents Fair is Back! Saturday 8th November at Greenway

On Saturday 8th November the Single Parent Fair is back! Community Church had a desire and a vision 16 years ago to host a wonderful day of love and kindness for those who single-handedly raise their children, and so we have run this yearly event ever since!

The Single Parent Fair will run throughout the Greenway Centre from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, it is free to attend and there is no need to book. After a warm welcome single parents can enjoy a huge range of fabulous things. This is best described by the experience of local single parents:

“Both of my daughters were pampered with beautiful haircuts . . . my eldest daughter said she hadn’t had a haircut since her youngest was born (two and a half years ago!). It was amazing for them all to have photographs taken and they very much look forward to seeing them.
“We left with many toys and books for the boys, some much needed clothing, full tummies and smiles all round! It was a real delight for me to see my grandsons and daughters receiving such a genuine warm welcome and accepted just as they are. It was helpful to have the service leaflet when we left, which continued the feel of being welcomed back.”  Hannah T

“My experience of the Single Parent Fair has been that of welcome, validation and love. It’s more than just an event; it’s a place to be seen, known and acknowledged. It’s a perfect illustration of God’s love in practical ways. Drawing in parents who are otherwise overlooked and judged in society.
“Many moments stand out to me, from a warm welcome to the generous provision, but for me what has always stood out the most was arriving for the first time, overwhelmed and tired, and having someone who saw it clearly, arranged a creche hour and got me a coffee, which took the pressure right off. No one was there for me day to day as a single parent but at that moment, I was seen and cared for.” Chanelle P
