Sweet Projects Go the Distance to Southmead-on-Sea

07/08/2026

An incredible team from our corporate partner Sweet Projects took on a mammoth challenge to cycle 220 miles, coast-to-coast, in support of our children and young people’s community hub The Ranch.

The team of eight cyclists, backed by a fantastic support crew, set off from Sheerness on the east coast and pedalled their way across the country to arrive in the middle of Southmead-on-Sea at the Southmead Festival.  Cheered on by festivalgoers gathered at the community stage, they powered through the finish line ribbon which was proudly held high by our Ranch children.

Their efforts have resulted in a treasure chest fit for a pirate! The team have so far received donations and pledges totalling a remarkable £12,080, helping us to move closer to our goal of opening The Ranch for more days to support even more children and young people.

Sweet Projects are already valued supporters of our work; they are contributing to our children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing service – The Ranch Link Forward – for the next three years. Through visits to our community hubs Greenway Centre and The Ranch, talking to our teams and to young people – they have witnessed first-hand the positive impact of our work.

We are incredibly grateful for the commitment, generosity and enthusiasm of Sweet Projects and we would like to say a huge thank you to every cyclist, support crew member, and donor who helped make this challenge such a massive success.

Thank you, Sweet Projects, for going the extra mile for The Ranch.
