A New Season of Tai Chi at Greenway: Begins Wednesday 1st October
16/09/2025

The new season of Tai Chi classes with Karen, at Greenway Centre, begins again on Wednesday 1st October, 2 – 3 PM. Beginners are very welcome to join.
Tai Chi is a low impact, slow motion, mind-body exercise that combines breath control, meditation and movements to stretch and strengthen muscles. The practice dates back thousands of years.
It supports or improves balance, coordination, flexibility, muscle strength, and stamina. For our mental health, Tai Chi helps to relieve stress, improve body awareness, and as part of a group class reduces social isolation.
Did you know that Tai Chi can also help with pain? There is some solid research to show that the practice can benefit people with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, tension headache, and other ongoing painful conditions.
Come and explore it for yourself in our friendly group where everyone is warmly welcome.

A bit about Karen:
“I’ve studied Tai Chi and Chinese martial arts since 1983, and I began teaching in 2004. I currently teach in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. I have taught all ages from six and up, but my particular interest is in how Tai Chi can benefit our health and wellbeing as we grow older.
Thank you Karen, you are an important part of Greenway and a much valued practitioner.
