GREENWAY GYM – TERMS & CONDITIONS
GREENWAY GYM – TERMS & CONDITIONS
MEMBERSHIPS
You are able to choose how you pay for your membership with us. A monthly recurring card payment can be set up by providing valid debit or credit card details.
The payment will come out of your bank on the 1st of each month. Alternatively, you can pay in advance for 12 months.
All members, irrespective of payment method, will pay a joining fee to cover the administration of their membership and introduction to the gym.
Members who choose to pay by monthly recurring card payment will pay a pro rata payment up front. This pro rata payment covers the cost of membership until the recurring card payment has been set up with your bank.
If a recurring card payment is returned by the bank unpaid, we have the right under regulations to re-present a request for this payment at any point without notice, but within one month of the original charge.
JUNIOR ACCESS
Junior members are aged 11-15 years. Junior members can attend Young Gym sessions (3 – 5pm on weekdays) unaccompanied, as long as they’ve had an induction. At all other times junior members must be accompanied in the gym by someone over 18 years, who is also a member of Greenway Gym.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Please refer to our Cancellations and Refunds Policy. To cancel please contact the Greenway Centre by phone, email or dropping in by the 20th of the month in order to not be charge for the next month on the 1st. If you attempt to cancel after the 20th of the month, you will be charged for the following month.
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
Money Back Guarantee is covered in our Cancellations and Refunds Policy.
MEMBERSHIP HOLIDAYS – ‘FREEZING’ MEMBERSHIP’
As a benefit of membership, we offer the opportunity to temporarily suspend or ‘freeze’ membership in the event of prolonged absence due to serious illness or injury. This benefit is for monthly recurring card payment fitness memberships only and requires the presentation of supporting medical evidence. This benefit is for full calendar months only and is available for a minimum of one calendar month up to a maximum of six calendar months.
‘Freezes’ can only commence after the first recurring card payment and pro rata payment has been taken. To activate this benefit please contact the Fitness and Wellbeing Manager at the Greenway Centre by the 20th of the month to be effective from the 1st of the following month, as you will need to sign to agree to the term of the ‘freeze’.
Membership ‘freezes’ cannot be backdated. At the end of the ‘frozen’ period the monthly recurring card payment will revert to the appropriate fee automatically, the signed agreement being the advance notice of the change.
CHANGE OF PERSONAL DETAILS
Should personal details change, please notify us immediately. The details we hold will be used to communicate electronically or by letter as per our agreement.
CHANGE OF CARD DETAILS
Should bank card details change, please amend them on the self-service gym account or notify us immediately for assistance to change them. This might happen if a new card is issued by the bank because of expiry or theft. If the recurring card payment fails because we do not have up to date card details or because the spending limit has been reached, we reserve the right to charge an administrative fee on top of the membership payment as part of correcting our records and any applicable banking charges.
PRICES
Prices may be reviewed at any point during the membership period and we undertake to provide notice of at least 14 working days prior to any price change.
Concession rates are only offered once eligibility has been evidenced to our Reception team.
Concessionary rates apply to people in receipt of the following benefits: Job Seekers Allowance, Universal Credit; Employment & Support Allowance; Income Support; Personal Independence Payment; Disability Living Allowance; Carers Allowance and State Pension.
Full-time students and Southmead Development Trust’s corporate partners can also receive concessions.
DISRUPTION
It may be necessary to undertake maintenance to the gym rooms and equipment at any time. Where we have to alter hours of business or change activities, every attempt will be made to provide advance notice and to minimise disruption and inconvenience. There will be no refund in membership fees during these changes.
CONDUCT
We expect our members to behave in a considerate manner and will not accept any aggressive behaviour towards other members or our colleagues; we reserve the right to refuse admission for members behaving in such a manner.
We expect our members to dress appropriately for their chosen activity. Footwear is mandatory for the gym and classes, open toe shoes must not be worn. Tops must be worn at all times.
Whilst using the gym and classes, members are asked that cameras and camera phones must not be used to capture/share the images of other people unless permission has been given.
Lockers must be used for all bags/coats/other personal belongings.
Any member found to be under the influence, in possession, or selling drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave and their membership will be cancelled with immediate effect.
MEMBERSHIP CARDS AND PHOTO IDENTIFICATION
All customers will be provided with a personal membership card which they will be required to swipe at Greenway Reception on each visit to the gym. The card remains the property of Southmead Development Trust. In the event that a card is lost, a replacement will be made available at a charge. The card may only be used by the person to whom it has been issued.
During the first visit to the Centre, members will be required to have a photograph taken so we can identify that only the holder of the membership is accessing the facilities. This is to safeguard all our members in relation to health and safely, and ensure only those members paying for a membership subscription are allowed access. Photographs will not be used in any other way other than for identification purposes.
Each and every time the gym or a class is attended members are required to swipe their membership card so that we have a record of attendance and in line with our Health and Safety Regulations.
Spot checks will be carried out to ensure participants have swiped their cards. Failure to do so may result in termination of membership. Membership cards cannot be used by anyone else other than the card holder. If anyone else is allowed to use the card membership will be terminated.
PHOTOGRAPHY
From time to time we will take photos for use on our website and social media. If you do not wish to appear in any of our photos please notify us so we can make a note on your account. If we do not receive a request for you to not appear in our photos, we will take this as consent.
PERSONAL PROPERTY, INJURY, ILLNESS AND DEATH
Subject to the final paragraph of this section, we will not compensate you for any loss or damage you may suffer where the same is attributable to:
- Your own fault, due to misuse of the equipment, or failure to seek assistance from staff on equipment use.
- A third party unconnected with our provision of services under this agreement; or
- Events which neither we nor our suppliers could have reasonably foreseen or forestalled even if we had taken all reasonable care.
Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability which cannot be excluded by law.
Any lost property will be retained at Reception for a maximum of 14 days before being disposed.
